The Child from Kargil
A special tribute to the Kargil heroes…
Kargil Vijay Divas on July 26th
( Celebrating India’s victory in Kargil War)
Let there be no second Kargil
anywhere on this Earth…
The Child from Kargil
A child is born
And sleeps in the mother’s lap
He clasps his hands and smiles
And feeds upon the maternal breast
And sings songs of glee
But Oh the mother’s divine face gives
a solemn look
The infant’s blissful eye moves around
And fixes upon the mother’s melancholy face
A tear drops down the motherly eye
Rolling down the soft maternal cheek
And into the baby’s astonished mouth
The infant’s sublime face gives a distorted look
What mother! Is this love or joy
Overwhelming thy maternal heart
And the ecstasy of thy divine soul
Giving you the tears of joy?
Oh dear little one
Thy father knows not the blessing of thy birth
He is striving for our Motherland at Kargil
He sleeps awaking
And the only merrymaking for him
Is the smile of our Motherland
Ah! They have divided our earth
Into narrow boundaries of so called nations
And so called citizens
But remember my love
They shall never succeed
In dividing the human heart and soul
As large as the unlimited firmament
The infant gave a heavenly smile
Half realising the deportment of her words
Another child in the street shouted
Oh! Let the next match of fraternity
Be played at Kargil
That l and you as friends shall play
And then the little one shall be so gay
But if they show any untoward smartness
There shall be a prompt tit for tat
Let them learn this forever
That we are eveready for that
Let there be no second Kargil
Anywhere on this earth
And let there be no bloodshed
On the sundry lands
Oh! My heavenly dream…
No war! No more Kargil!
Oh!No war! No more war!
Sleep? No I was half awake
The war before my eyes….
Bofors, Kargil, Drass on my lips….
Guns booming, soldiers marching….
Heavy loads, high slippery peaks….
Snow melts as if the Himalayas weep….
Dead bodies wrapped in national flag….
Lined up with identification tags….
Is this war for the line of control?
Bloodshed, hapless widows, orphans and all !!!
Is war a necessary evil to spring us to action?
To bring awakening to a sleeping nation?
I have asked this question thrice
Please give me your honest reply
And also your thoughtful advice
And mind you that this must be nice
Is this wise to fight over a piece of ice
Is this wise to fight over a piece of ice???
